I Don't Feel So Good

That rabies shot she got yesterday?  Bad reaction.  Everyone forgot to give her Benadryl beforehand and after I got home from taking the niece to the airport and let the dogs in the house, I started to notice that Holly was definitely not her usual happy self.  Her ears were hot, her butt was swollen and tender and all she wanted to do was snuggle into pillows and lie there, miserable.

The vet said to give her half a Benadryl, which I did, and while she feels a little better this morning, she is not about to get out from under the covers and face the world.

I know they say it's awful when an animal is hurting because they can't tell you what's wrong, but if expressions could talk (and they do), this one says "Leave me the freak alone, Mom.  I feel like s**t."

Note:  This post still doesn't show up as the latest published post on any "followers" sites.  Why does this happen????

  1. Sweet baby... I hope she feels better -- soon. That picture is just so pitiful! :( Give her some gentle little ear rubs from us all!

  2. awwwhhh, give her a hug for me and cici and gingin said to nuzzle her ear for them. oh and they also said that a kiss behind the ear (like there mommny does for them) is good medicine. i know she is going to better. she is so cute and has such a sweet face.

  3. it shows up on mine as the new post?? hope little holly feels bvetter soon!

  4. It showed up today! Go figure! I hope Miss Holly is feeling much better by now. I took Riley to the vet on Friday for a cortizone shot in his hip. I asked the vet about Holly's scenario. He said whenever we give our babies the heartworm pills, it can kill any worms that started growin within the last 21 days. It doesn't stay in their bodies until the next dose, just 7 days afterward. I will be more vigilant about this. I assumed it was more of a booster.

    Hugs to Holly!

  5. Poor baby.....I hope she's her regular self again soon.
